Courchevel 1850 was one earliest of the purpose built French resorts post second world war and has built quite a reputation for itself over the years, good and bad. It has the smartest hotels, nightlife and shops in the Courchevel Valley , but offers such 5* amenities at a cost. The location of the resort however, which sits facing a snowsure northerly direction, has several pistes running through it and a high proportion of ski in ski out lodgings. Location wise, there is no better.
A huge amount of skiing can be reached from 1850. Sitting at 1850m, its height, the high standard of snowmaking and the unrivalled piste grooming almost guarantees snow down to at least 1650. Higher up, you will be sure to find yourself in fantastic terrain suitable to whatever standard you may be. Not only do you have manicured pistes of a variety of gradients, but you also have an abundant amount of lift served off piste to keep the any powderhound satisfied.
