Zermatt can easily be summed up in one word – “Magical”. A leading ski journalist repeatedly states in his books “You must try Zermatt before you die”. We agree. Alpine charm, excellent intermediate and advanced piste offerings, stunning scenery dominated by the Matterhorn, exquisite mountain food, the list goes on…
Zermatt lies at the foot of the Matterhorn and is car-free. The ski area boasts 63 mountain railways and more than 300 kilometres of pistes. The ski area above Zermatt naturally creates four distinct areas – they are Rothorn, Gornergrat, Schwarzsee and last but not least, the Glacier. Even in peak weeks, queuing should not pose any problem.
The town itself is walkable from end to end however it is sprawling in its layout. Depending where your priorities lie, some areas of the resort will be more suited to you/your group than others. Please ask any of us at Glacius for advice on where to stay.
