Overview

The ski in, ski out resort is the obvious big draw to the Hotel Crystal, Obergurgl in Austria. However, there are many more reasons than just the location to choose this hotel as your ski break accommodation.

The spa is stylishly designed with one of the largest Finnish saunas we’ve seen – certainly the largest in the Tyrol. And the three pools are stunning, offering fantastic spaces to relax in whether you’re indoors or out. In total, the spa area makes up around 2,000 square metres – certainly a highlight. What makes it more unique is that this entire ski hotel is the first, above 2,000m, to be entirely fuelled by renewable energy. Good for us and good for the environment – just as a ski hotel should be.

The food is a delight too, with the hotel restaurant, steakhouse and more traditional Hohe Mut Alm to choose from before you take into account the cocktails and roaring fires at the bar or wine lounge. In this modern suite with Bedouin conifers burnt in Japanese Shou-Sugi-Ban style, boxspring bed with a seven-pocket spring mattress, plenty of storage space, desk, high-end TV and contemporary luxury, a combination sauna that simultaneously functions as a Finnish sauna and as well Infrared cabin, a freestanding luxury bathtub from Solid Surface with mountain views and a separate toilet. Perfectly integrated into a functional bathroom with a spacious, walk-in shower. All rooms are located on the second floor.
