Now managed and owned by the fourth generation of the Scheiber family, the Edelweiss and Gurgl hotel has created a great Alpine experience for its guest for over 100 years by extending a warm welcome in the best Tyrolean tradition. The history of Hotel Edelweiss & Gurgl dates back to 1889 when great-grandfather Martin Scheiber, a true pioneer, built a small, but sturdy inn. Over the years, this inn turned into the biggest hotel in Obergurgl. A large number of guests have made the hotel a home away from home because of its unique location directly adjacent to the ski lifts, and its excellent service.

The hotel is not only a great place to stsay due to its fantastic location for the ski lifts, but can also pride itself on its extensive wellness area, which leaves nothing to be desired. Its Glacier Spa ranks among the top wellness destinations in all of Austria. All rooms are state-of-the-art, beautifully styled, and very comfortable and the hotel’s restaurant is known in the region for its excellent cuisine.

Obergurgl is situated in the spectacular Oetz Valley and is Austria’s highest parish, resulting in excellent snow records and a very long skiing season. The luxury hotels in Obergurgl are very good and the resort is a good spot for families with beginners.

Guests can also enjoy the a la carte menu at the Edelweiss & Gurgl’s restaurant. The restaurant uses mainly local produce to create traditional Tirolean specialties and international dishes. The menu fuses modern creativity with tradition, complemented by a wide selection of fine wines from Austria and further afield.
