Overview

The Grand Aigle Hotel and Spa is a newly refurbished 4* hotel in the picturesque village of Villeneuve. The hotel enjoys a ski-in, ski-out position (snow and level depending) linking to new Pontillas cable car, providing access to the vast skiing area of Serre Chevalier.

The Grand Aigle Hotel & Spa blends perfectly with its rural surroundings, the original building having been a farm building in the eighteenth century.

The rooms and suites at Le Grand Aigle are of a simple yet refined design, using beech headboards and furniture with pure white walls and bed linen, offset by chocolate counterpanes and cushions and a plush red or grey carpet. Attractive murals above the beds are evocative of the hotel’s majestic namesake – the eagle. All rooms are are cosily decorated and have bath or shower and wc, desk, safe, bathrobe with slippers, hairdryer, satellite TV, Nespresso machine (except in Standard Classic room), telephone and minibar. The 60 rooms at The Grand Aigle Hotel & Spa were completely refurbished in 2013.

Guests are invited to discover the Spa Pure Altitude, with its range of rejuvenating beauty treatments and massages. Alternatively, the Jacuzzi and sauna (booking required) provide a moment of pure relaxation in an exceptional environment.

Each morning, guests to Le Grand Aigle can look forward to a generous continental buffet breakfast, consisting of a choice of delicious and healthy sweet and savoury dishes.

The restaurant chef invents gastronomic dishes daily, so there is no fixed evening menu. Fresh seasonal produce is brought in from the best farmers in the region and the menu is indicated on a slate every day. The chef takes his inspiration from the values of the hotel – quality and simplicity. The welcoming hotel bar offers a full menu of soft and alcoholic drinks, cocktails and teas and coffees.

The unique setting of Le Grand Aigle is sure to help concentrate the mind and the hotel is able to accommodate business meetings in its own seminar room, which looks out onto the mountainside. Younger visitors are also warmly welcomed, with the hotel home to its own children’s corner and play room.

The hotel’s restaurant provides fresh seasonal produce utilising ingredients from the best farmers in the region. The menu changes daily and focuses on quality and simplicity. Breakfast comprises a generous continental buffet, with a choice of delicious sweet and savoury dishes.
