Overview
The Koh-i Nor in Val Thorens is the highest five star hotel in Europe, at 2,364m, and is located on the side of the blue run ‘Plein Sud’ in a spectacular location. As well as its superb location, it is the striking architecture, design, light and furnishings which make this hotel really stand out.
The entire hotel is centred around the concept of light being let in – and in doing so, maximising the views of the surrounding mountains.
All 63 rooms and suites have balconies with fabulous views across the alpine surroundings and range from cosy rooms perfect for couples, to spacious family suites. Each room is luxuriously decorated and furnished, allowing guests to indulge in absolute luxury throughout their stay.
Whether it be sheltering from inclement weather, or unwinding after a full day on the mountain, the 800sqm luxury spa awaits. Facilities include 2 swimming pools, a fitness room, sauna, hammam, Jacuzzi, salt wall, fountain of ice, experience showers, relaxation area and solarium.
There are also 4 treatment rooms which offer pampering beauty and massage treatments.
The food is wonderful at the hotel. There are three restaurants with Head Chef Eric Samson at the helm; L’atelier d’Eric is the main half board restaurant, although guests who take half board are able to dine at the other two restaurants in the hotel with a supplement payable.
The large and very sunny terrace is super place to enjoy long lunches.
The lounge bar with its cosy fireplace is a relaxing place to unwind after a day on the slopes.
Guests can take advantage of the well-equipped ski shop, and the hotel offers a shuttle service within the resort.

“We love the modern and comfortable rooms, the food in the diamond noir and the sustained level of impressive service. Both the spa and of course the ski in ski out access are wonderful.”
