Overview

The hotel L’Avancher sits in an idyllic, peaceful location just a five minute walk from the centre of Val d’Isere, on the outskirts of the hustle and bustle of the resort. The ski bus stop is 50m from the door and at the end of the day you’ll be able to ski right back to the hotel.

The hotel is one of the longest standing in Val d’Isere, and has been welcoming guests since 1958. It is reminiscent of an old chalet, and provides guests with an authentic alpine experience and on the back of the recent renovation, offers a hint of luxury, freshness and style.

The hotel is small, with only 37 rooms, and as a result, there is an intimate atmosphere. The rooms are comfortable and cosy with everything you need to enjoy your stay.

The hotel has a restaurant and bar with a wine bar on one side and a lounge area with roaring fire on the other – books, board games and even Go Pros are available to borrow.

The Spa Avancher has been designed exclusively for the hotel and offers spectacular views on the Face de Bellevarde allowing you to unwind and relax from an elevated position. Featuring a sauna, hammam, Jacuzzi, hair salon and the ultimate Scandinavian experience; the rooftop outdoor sauna – not to be missed!

Renowned for its Savoyard specialities, the hotel restaurant invites you to appreciate fresh, local products. Serving the iconic ‘Raclette l’ancienne’ delicately scorched under the central oven and served straight onto your plate, this traditional and refined gourmet menu is popular across resort.

Along with a twenty-four-hour reception, the Avancher Hotel also benefits from an unsupervised children’s games room, Tesla charging unit and underground car parking available at 15 euros per day.

Dining 

The Chef, Olivier Nuret, and his team extend you a welcome (except Mondays), whether you are guests at the hotel or not.

At midday in winter, from noon to 3 p.m., the Chef offers you fresh house pasta, served with a variety of sauces of deer with bolognaise or vegetarian with small, crunchy vegetables.

In the evening, from 7 o’clock, the recipe is simple: fresh, local produce for a gourmet experience, house appetisers, selected meats, a variety of fondues and obviously the famous ‘Classic Raclette’, which made the establishment’s name.

The Raclette is slightly grilled on the restaurant’s main stove and served on a plate, as tradition demands. What is more, this is the only spot in the Val d’Isere where it is served as such.
