Overview
Situated among the pine trees in the Jardin Alpin area of Courchevel 1850, Hotel Les Sherpas is an ideal choice for a peaceful ski retreat to the French Alps. Built in traditional Savoyard style back in 1961 by the Pinturault family, this family run hotel is a real haven of tranquility combining a cosy atmosphere and highly personalised service. What’s more the hotel is quite literally on the slopes, steps away from the protected beginner area with the opportunity to ski right to the door.
Les Sherpas is located in a quiet area on the outskirts of Courchevel 1850, and just 5 minutes’walk from the Jardin Alpin gondola. The complimentary shuttle service makes getting to and from the lift and centre of resort really easy each day.
The simple yet elegant rooms at the hotel have been decorated in a range of styles from traditional decor combining warm tones and wood trimming to more contemporary, minimalist designs. All are equipped with high quality bedding, WiFi, a flat-screen TV, safe and balcony or terrace with views of the mountains.
The hotel’s wellness facilities include a heated indoor pool with large picture windows out onto the snowy surroundings. There also is a sauna and steam room. The relaxing lounge bar has a large open fireplace and comfy sofas – perfect for any time of the day; and the cocktail menu is something to be desired. For the kids, thereâ’s a games room and great kids’ area to keep them occupied.
For added convenience, the ski room has individual ski lockers and heated boot racks.
All meals are served in the bright and sociable dining room. Begin the day with a delicious buffet breakfast offering a wide variety of hot and cold options, including eggs and omelettes cooked on demand.
Early evening meals with special dishes are available for children from 6pm, giving families the option to get the little ones off to bed for an early night. And the 5-course evening meals are something of a talking point here – a different menu every day combines appetising combinations of modern gourmet dishes with a typically French note.
