Overview

The charming 3* Hotel Schalnegg occupies a slightly elevated location close to the village centre and Mannlichen cable car (a five minute walk in ski boots). The hotel faces the world-renowned Jungfrau mountain.

As well as being just a five-minute walk from Mannlichen Cable Car, the hotel is also just 5 minutes away (on foot) from the local ski school.

Hotel Schalnegg perfectly combines traditional Alpine style with modern convenience. The hotel is one of the oldest hotels in the village and was totally refurbished in 2012, now boasting a traditionally yet luxurious interior. The traditional alpine style of the hotel provides a cosy atmosphere and this is continued into the rooms and suites, all of which offer a flat-screen TV, hair-dryer and complimentary WiFi. Many also have balconies with views of the surrounding peaks.

If guests are looking for total tranquillity the spa area including wellness beds and a sauna is a great space to relax ski legs.

After a day on the slopes, guests can look forward to relaxing in the hotel’s sauna or lounge. Additionally, the hotel’s Stubli restaurant and bar is a great spot to enjoy a relaxed meal, wine by the glass from the extensive hotel cellar or a coffee with the locals.

Small Double: The small double room with balcony is bright and extremely cosy. Lovely decorations and a great deal of amazing woodwork lends the room all the charm of the Swiss mountains.

Classic Double: The classic par excellence. Slightly more generously cut than the Small Double, but with the same heart-warming features. The balcony invites you to enjoy the alpine panorama or marvel at the beautiful, clear night sky.

Family Room: The rustic option for perfect family holidays. Naturally, the Family Room offers two bedrooms: a parents’ room with a double bed and a children’s room with a bunk bed. In addition a bathroom, an additional washbasin in one of the rooms, two balconies to the east side and with a view onto the Jungfrau massif. Promised too much?

Roof Double: The double room is bright and extremely cosy. Lovely decorations and a great deal of amazing woodwork lends the room all the charm of the Swiss mountains.

Dining 

The Schalnegg is home to an award-winning restaurant, the Restaurant 1903, which received 13 Gault Millau points in 2016. Here, chef Sylvain Stefanazzi Ogi creates beautiful, refined dishes which combine classic Swiss flavours with a touch of the Mediterranean, inspired by his Italian roots.
