The luxurious hotel Les Barmes de l’Ours 5* is situated at the foot of La Face ski-run, in central Val d’Isere. Like all high end luxury alpine hotels, it adeptly combines state of the art facilities with traditional charm.

The rooms and suites are smothered in luxury with 4 unique styles: Loft, Chalet, Nordic and American Lodge, something to suit all tastes. Double rooms and suites overlook the piste or village, whilst twin rooms have a forest view. The L’Ours Suite is in a class of its own with its very own fireplace, projector screen and open plan Jacuzzi.

As well as fantastic rooms, the hotel’s impressive endeavour to be a hit with families is clear to see with three restaurants, a kid’s club, teenage games area, and a two-lane bowling alley.

After a day on the slopes, there is nowhere you would rather be than the hotel’s 800msq wellness area. The facilities include a lovely indoor pool, hammam, Jacuzzi and sauna. The spa offers a wide range of beauty and body treatments including facials, manicures, reflexology, body wraps and various massages. The hotel also has an in-house hair dressing salon.

The hotel bar is very comfortable and is a place for guests to enjoy the roaring open fireplace with a drink in hand. The bar comes to life in the evenings with live piano playing to accompany your sipping of a pre-dinner drink.

The restaurant ‘La Table de l’Ours’, is the hotel’s gastronomic Michelin Star restaurant. The ‘Rotisserie’ allows guests to sample the delights of the fabulous buffet. The hotel’s ‘Coin Savoyard’ restaurant offers local speciality cheese, meats and wines.

The hotel also has its own two-storey ski shop selling state-of-the-art ski wear and alpine chic fashions.

Room Types & Amenities

Classic Room: The Standard Room is 25m2 featuring two twin beds that can be prepared as a double bed if preferred. Features include bathroom with bathtub and toilet, balcony, TV, minibar, wifi, safe, hairdryer, bathrobes and slippers. Can also be joined to a Junior Suite. These rooms are at the back of the hotel.

Superior Room: The Superior Room is 25m2 featuring two twin beds that can be prepared as a double bed if preferred. Includes bathroom with bathtub and shower, separate WC, balcony, TV, minibar, wifi, safe, hairdryer, bathrobes and slippers. Can also be joined to a Junior Suite.

Luxury Room: At 30m2 the Luxury Room provides spacious accommodation for two with views of the mountainside and village. Features include a large double bed, bathroom with bathtub and shower, separate WC, balcony, TV, minibar, wifi, safe, hairdryer, bathrobes and slippers. Can also be joined to a Family Suite.

Junior Suite: The Junior Suite has a floor space of 44m2 and provides spacious accommodation for two with views of the ski area. Features include a king size bed, bathroom with whirlpool bathtub and shower, separate WC, balcony, living room area, TV, minibar, wifi, safe, hairdryer, bathrobes and slippers. There is also the option of adding a sofa bed suitable for children up to the age of twelve in this suite, and it can also be joined to a Classic or Superior Room or Prestige Suite.

Prestige Suite: The Prestige Suite has a floor space of 60m2 providing spacious accommodation for two with upper floor panoramic views of Val d’Isere and the mountain. Features include a king size bed, bathroom with whirlpool bathtub and shower, separate WCs, balcony, separate living room area, TV, minibar, wifi, safe, hairdryer, bathrobes and slippers. There is also the option of adding a sofa bed suitable for children up to the age of twelve in this suite, and it can also be joined to a Junior Suite.

Family Suite: At 60m2 the Family Suite provides spacious accommodation for all the family with views of Val d’Isere and the mountain. Features include a king size bed, bathroom with whirlpool bathtub and shower, separate WC, balcony, separate living room area, TV, minibar, wifi, safe, hairdryer, bathrobes and slippers. There is a second bedroom for children with 2 bunk beds and a single child bed suitable for children up to 12 years old, this bedroom also has its own shower and toilet.

Ourson Suite: Boasting spectacular views of Val d’Isere and the mountain, the ‘Ourson’ Bear Cub Suite provides plenty of space for all the family with 80m2 of floor space. There is a second bedroom for children with 2 bunk beds and a single child bed suitable for children up to 12 years old, this bedroom also has its own en suite. The main bedroom includes a king size bed, bathroom with whirlpool bathtub and shower and separate WC. Other features include a large balcony, separate living room area, TV, minibar, wifi, safe, hairdryer, bathrobes and slippers.

Ours Suite: The ‘Ours’ Bear Suite is the ultimate luxury suite with 80m2 of space, overlooking the ski area and with panoramic views of Val d’Isere. The main bedroom is large and includes a king size bed, bathroom with bathtub, jacuzzi, shower, two sinks and separate WC. There is also a charming living area with wooden bar and chimney, and a private hammam and sauna. Other features include a large balcony, separate living room area, TV, minibar, wifi, safe, hairdryer, bathrobes and slippers.

Each of the floors are marked with their own identity and have a different theme, these being, ‘Scandinavian Spirit’, ‘Alpine Chalet’, ‘Great North American Lodge’ and ‘Contemporary’. Both the rooms and suites are designed to provide space and comfort, each with a private balcony.
