Overview
In 2000, the old Riffelalp Hotel underwent a drastic renovation resulting in a magnificent 5*, ski in ski resort hotel. This wonderful hotel sits on a plateau at 2222m, accessible either by skis from the Gornergrat area or by train which runs from 0710 to 2150 (meaning you can enjoy some of the apres-ski or enjoy an early dinner in Zermatt before returning).
The Riffelalp Resort is a short walk from the Riffelalp train station where regular trains throughout the day take you straight to the Zermatt centre.
Every room in the Riffelalp Resort offers a wonderful view of the Matterhorn.
This property has it all – an ideal ski-in, ski-out location in the Riffelalp ski area, a gastronomic restaurant and relaxing sun terrace, an extensive spa area plus both indoor and outdoor pools and mini-fitness centre. It also boats its own bowling alley!
The hotel is especially suited to families with young children. It has a supervised playroom (during the winter) welcoming children from two to eight years, that is open Sunday to Friday from 3:00pm to 10:30pm. Here older children can play on the Playstation whilst the younger children can enjoy toys, games as well as arts and crafts available.
